Paying tribute to a
past of practical living
Honoring the men and women of the past who cherished
what they had, wore their clothing down to mere threads,
yet kept their belongings around as a means of necessity.
By way of their “waste-not” mentality and steadfast belief
of reuse, we are left with the remains of a bygone era
when quality was championed and resourcefulness was
the cornerstone of American living.

These ‘Cowhide’ brand bib overalls are a true staple of Depression Era work clothing. The denim, though worn and repaired, is soft and sturdy, with a rich patina throughout indicative of extensive wear. The bib flap includes multiple functional pockets, a large central snap pocket, a smaller slot for pencils, and a time-worn and half-gone Cowhide branded tag. The shoulder straps are adjustable with metal hardware. Beautiful mending throughout, some original and some done by hand using period correct materials in our shop. Construction of these bib overalls feature a heavy duty triple stitched seams, for enhanced durability and wear.
