These ‘Cowhide’ brand bib overalls are a true staple of Depression Era work clothing. The denim, though worn and repaired, is soft and sturdy, with a rich patina throughout indicative of extensive wear. The bib flap includes multiple functional pockets, a large central snap pocket, a smaller slot for pencils, and a time-worn and half-gone Cowhide branded tag. The shoulder straps are adjustable with metal hardware. Beautiful mending throughout, some original and some done by hand using period correct materials in our shop. Construction of these bib overalls feature a heavy duty triple stitched seams, for enhanced durability and wear.

This 1930s cotton voile day dress exemplifies the era’s balance of garments that are quite practical, yet timeless and elegant. The lightweight cotton voile fabric features a bold, vibrant floral pattern in red, white and blue, giving the dress a quite cheerful appeal. The simple short sleeves and knee-length hemline make is ideal for everyday wear, while the lightweight and slightly sheer material ensures comfort, breathability and the opportunity for layering in the colder months. The standout detail worth noting is the classic V-shaped neckline accentuated by a contrasting white panel to create a sailor-inspired look. The neckline is further adorned with a blue piping coming to a delicate tie at the center. The bodice features gentle shaping for a quite boxy, yet flattering fit, transitioning to a slightly dropped waistlines (a classic silhouette of the 1920s and 1930s). 1940s Workmaster branded bib overalls with all of the bells & whistles. A number of metal rivets throughout, along the crotch, the pockets, along the waist for extra reinforcement and strength for extra durability that can withstand wear. This pair also features a snap-button coin pocket lining the right front pocket, branded low-back straps, and has little to no wear or flaws to note. The denim feels soft and supple, lightly broken in, and the indigo dye is dark as through they were never worn a day.

Patented by Sweet Orr in 1918, the ‘Womanalls’ were created as a suitable garment for women to wear as they entered the workforce, and more specifically in factories. Sweet Orr & Company would often reach out to companies who started to employ women to sell their patented Womanalls as a safe, suitable and comfortable clothing option for women workers. These overalls came in different fabrics, and the pair we have to offer you today is made from a lightweight indigo-dyed Stifel Shadow Stripe. The overalls feature a fitted bib with reinforced stitching, two smaller sized front patch pockets, and cross-back straps for secure wear and comfort in mobility. Metal buckles can also be found along the ankles of each leg, and were designed as such to ensure the garment stays close to the body and wouldn’t get caught in machinery. The fabric’s wear and ever-so-subtle patina reflect the over 100-year-old garment’s past. Women’s workwear is becoming increasingly difficult to come by and this being a coveted original pair of Sweet Orr’s own Stifel fabric Womanalls is about as hard to come by as it gets. The interior of the overalls are littered in J. L. Stifel & Sons trademark boot stamps.

This ‘Linda Lane’ uniform dress is not only in pristine condition, but is absolutely timeless and beautiful in its design. The dress is made from a blend of Orlon and Nylon, materials popular for their durability and easy maintenance during the mid-20th century. The dress features a classic gingham-check pattern in a soft red and white, and a fitted silhouette with a tailored waistline and darts that provide a structured shape. The short puffed sleeves and pointed collar add a touch of femininity while the patch pockets and concealed zip-closure make it both practical and functional. The dress has never been worn, and comes with the paper tag it came with when it was originally purchased.

This 1940s two-piece vest and trouser set is a distinctive, yet timeless addition to anyone’s wardrobe. The set is crafted from a rich, deep-burgundy-brown gabardine fabric. These Montgomery Ward ‘Pioneer’ brand hickory stripe bib overalls are made of durable hickory stripe patterned denim, a popular pattern known for its dirt-disguising properties and long-lasting wear for working conditions. The bib flap includes a generously sized central button closure pocket, along with the proud display of the classic MW ‘Pioneer’ branded label, symbolizing the company’s proud commitment to creating clothing of quality craftsmanship. The shoulder straps are adjustable, and the reverse side features the signature ‘Pioneer’ branded low-back elastic cross-back suspender straps. The fabric shows natural wear, and has one small original hand-repair carefully done along the left leg. These overalls are strong, and in extremely wonderful shape.

This 1940s cotton work smock is made from a lightweight cotton, and features a bold red, green and white floral pattern accented by a gingham-check detailing on some of the flowers, adding a visually playful element to the already bold and breathtaking piece. The smock has a pointed collar neckline with a button closure down the front with mismatched red buttons. The smock is slightly gathered at the yokes for a relaxed fit, providing comfort and flexibility for everyday tasks. One roomy front patch pocket on the lower portion of the smock. This garment is in perfect condition and there are no flaws to note.
